About the Acton Thrift Store

Serving the community with compassion, faith and purpose.

Our History

The Acton Thrift Store first opened in 1979 and moved to its current location in 2009. Since then, it has continued to serve the community by providing affordable items, while at the same time supporting important local initiatives.

Supporting our Community

As a non-profit organization, the funds raised through the sale of donated items (from our generous community members) support Salvation Army programs and services right here in Acton and Halton Hills. These include financial assistance for those in need, access to food banks, emergency shelter, disaster relief, and crisis support. Through the church's Community and Family Services program, we also offer vouchers that allow individuals and families experiencing hardship to shop free of charge for essential items in our Thrift Store.
